Our beloved Robert M. Chelak Sr., 82, was taken to our Lord after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at home, surrounded by his loving wife, Terry of 60 years, his children, grandchildren and daughters-in-law.

He was born on March 15, 1931, to Michael and Anna V. Chelak and he served with the Army during the Korean War. He spent most of his career as a General Sales Manager in the Automotive Industry in Scranton and Binghamton, N.Y.

Robert's family would like to offer a special thanks to Msgr. Patrick Pratico and Rev. Christopher Sahd for their many prayers; also to the nurses of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, special thanks to Jean and Eileen for their compassion and loving touch. Also to Dr. Giovanni Ramos, Dr. Herman Brereton and Dr. Richard Emanuelson for their exceptional care during his prolonged illness. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughtfulness at this most difficult time.

In addition to his wife, Theresa, he is survived by a daughter, Catherine; sons, Robert Jr., Mark and David; his grandchildren, Dana, Diane and Brittney; daughters-in-law, Michele, Robin and Darcy; and sister- in-law, Pearl.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan.

A private blessing service was held at St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City, by Msgr. Patrick Pratico and Deacon Jan Mroz. Entombment was at St. Mary's Mausoleum.
