Robert P. Furiosi of Scranton died Wednesday at Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness. His wife, the former Nancy Alfieri, died Sept. 18, 1996.

Born in Scranton, he was the son the late Alfonso and Esther Phillips Furiosi. A graduate of Scranton Central High School, he proudly served in the military. Before retirement he was employed by Keystone Building Block Co. He was a former member of the Scranton Country Club and a longtime member of St. Lucy's Church.
He was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan, he enjoyed fishing and golf, but his greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. He attended all of their sports events, and coaching at Central City Little League, brought him great pleasure.
Surviving are three daughters, Gina Slugg and husband, Ralph; Dawn Miller and husband, Eric, all of Scranton; and Jennifer Ruddy and husband, Paul, Jermyn; three sons, Anthony and wife, Holley, Scranton; Steven and wife, Tricia, Dickson City; and R.A. and wife, Melanie, Jermyn; grandchildren, Michael, Cody, Victoria, Kamden, Mckadyn, Makenna, Dereka, Kaliana, Mylee, Rachel-Nevaeh, Annabella, Morgan and Jorden; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a great-nephew.
He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kayden.
The funeral will be Monday from the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church, 949 Scranton St., Scranton. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to go directly to church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
