Robert "Chopper" Phillips of West Scranton died Friday at home after an illness. His wife, the former Cindy Howell, died May 8, 2012.

Born in Scranton, son of the late William and Agnes Dunlevy Phillips, before his illness he was employed as a bartender and had also worked at Clarks Summit State Hospital.
He enjoyed playing pool and camping, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. He was a member of the FOE and Court Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Nicole Whiteduck, Quebec, Canada; three sons, Michael Whiteduck Jr. and wife, Maria, Pittston Twp.; Jeremy Whiteduck and Jeffrey Phillips, both of Scranton; four grandchildren; mother-in-law, Clara Howell; and sister-in-law, Judy Sawka, both of Scranton; nieces, Michele Phillips and Jeanene Marr and husband, Jason; and great-nieces.
Two brothers, William and Anthony Phillips, also preceded him in death.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with the Rev. Fred Snyder, pastor of Court Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
