Ruth A. Hott, Waymart, died Tuesday afternoon in the Regional Hospital of Scranton after a sudden illness. She was the widow of Billie Joe Hott, who died May 15, 2012. The couple had been married for 63 years.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Sylvia Bloomquist Rupp. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of South Canaan and the Laurel Chapter 67 Order of Eastern Star, Waymart.
Surviving are daughters, Memorie Burnham, and her husband, Randy; and Billie Jo Shemanski and her husband, William, all of Waymart; a son, Frederick Hott, of Washington Courthouse, OH; grandchildren Rebecca, Melissa, Brandy, Billie Joe, Willie and Stephanie; fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Rupp.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday at 6 p.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd., Lake Ariel, officiated by Rev. William Rushik.
Friends may call Monday from 4 p.m. until time of service.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Simon Cemetery.
Cremation will be in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home.
