Sharon Ann Dolphin, South Scranton, died Saturday after a brief illness. It was her 73rd birthday. Her husband of 53 years is Alan Dolphin.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Harry and Peg Stanton Collins, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral Parish, and worked for many years at Buchner's Floral Shop.
Sharon was a deeply devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who loved family events and traveling. She always referred to Alan not only as her husband, but her best friend. She will always be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She is also survived by three sons, David Dolphin and wife, Christine; Sean Dolphin and wife, Kelly, all of Scranton; and Kevin Dolphin and wife, Donna, Roaring Brook Twp.; a sister, Marilyn Metcho, Roaring Brook Twp.; two brothers, Harry Collins, Scranton; and Gene Collins, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua and Kaitlyn, Noah and Maggie, Bobbi and Ryan; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Maureen Slocum; and two brothers, Donald and Lee Collins.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, celebrated by the Rev. Philip Altavilla, pastor. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday, 4 to 8 p.m. The family requests that those attending the funeral on Wednesday proceed directly to the church.
