Songia "Sam" Shevlin, 63, of Hop Bottom, and formerly of South Scranton, died Saturday evening at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Edward Shevlin.

Born in Morganton, N.C., on Jan. 9, 1950, daughter of the late Walter and Grace Hauck Amos, Songia had previously owned and operated the Scranton Business and Postal Center in South Scranton for 10 years.
An avid gardener, she was a member of the Penn State University Master Gardener Program of Susquehanna County.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald, David and Wayne Anderson; three step-daughters, Katherine Walker, Christine Sturtze and Karen Moore; a sister, Diane Fields; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers also preceded her in death.
Blessing services are scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 125 N. Main Ave., Scranton, by the Rev. James Wert, with interment to follow at the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday between 5 to 7 p.m..
