Sophie Mary Kielceski, 95, of Montrose, died at home on Wednesday after a short illness. Her husband, Stanley J. Kielceski, predeceased her.

She was born in Throop to the late Stephen P. and Mary Ann Danielski Elsky. Sophie was a 30-year employee of the Bendix Corp. She was a member of the Holy Name of Mary Church.
Always independent and proudly self-sufficient, she was a loving mother of her two devoted daughters, Betty Callaway and her husband, Jerry, North East, Md.; and Barbara Tarchak, Wharton, N.J. She was the grandmother of five who were continually inspired by her unconditional love and ageless spirit. She held a special place in her heart for her five great-grandchildren. A sister, Theresa Voige, South Montrose; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Sophie's three brothers, Zigmund, Stanley and Edward; as well as a sister, Helen Elsky Snyder, also predeceased her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Holy Name of Mary Church, with the Rev. Gerard F. Safko officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Name of Mary Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home 64 S. Main St., Montrose, from 1 until the time of the Mass.
