Stanley S. Chisar, 82, of Blakely, died Saturday morning at VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born in Olyphant, son of the late Rudolph and Angela Ferris Chisar, he was a member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. A graduate of Olyphant High School, Stanley served with the Army for three years and four years with the Navy. He had been employed by Lincoln Ford and Gibbons Ford as an auto mechanic and he also was employed as a foreman by Chamberlain Corp. He owned and operated Dorchy's Bar in Throop.
He was a loving and caring father who enjoyed fishing, working on his cars, yard and his homes. His daughter appreciates the kind and loving care offered by his best friend, Marjorie Woodworth.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Boswell and husband, Paul, Carthage, N.C.; two sisters, Dee Wolo, Gettysburg; and Frances Krawczyk, Dickson City; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Joseph and infant Gerald; and sisters, MaryAnn Lubaszewski and Toni Mack.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass at 9:30 in St. Mary's Visitation Church. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Dickson City.
Friends may call Wednesday, 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to VNA Hospice and Home Health.
