Stella E. Calomino Darcy, 85, of South Scranton, died Sunday in Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband, Salvatore A. Calomino, died in 1961.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Antonette Panek Krahel. Educated in Scranton Technical High School, she was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Parish, South Scranton. Stella had been employed by Parodi Cigar and Haddon Craftsmen and retired from Techneglas, the former Owens-Illinois of Luzerne County, and was a weekly volunteer for St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen up until her illness.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Calomino, Scranton; and Salvatore Calomino, Ph.D., University of Wisconsin; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers and seven sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, 1217 Prospect Ave., Scranton. Inurnment will be private in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore. Those attending are requested to go directly to the church.
Her family will receive friends in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 254-268 Railroad Ave., West Scranton, on Tuesday, 5 to 7 p.m.
