Theresa M. Kania, 85, formerly of Carbondale, died Sunday at the home of her niece, Rosemary Travis in Archbald, where she resided.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Stephen and Rose Tomko Kania, she was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She was a graduate of St. Rose School, Carbondale. Before her retirement, she was employed by Daystrom Instrument, Archbald, for over 30 years.
In her retirement, she loved to travel and spend time with her family. She also loved to take trips to the casino and play cards.
The family would like to thank Dr. Martin Hyzinski and his staff for their many years of wonderful and compassionate care. They would also like to thank Dr. Frank Moro and his staff for their years of kindness and care.
Surviving are two sisters, Rose Loftus, Archbald; and Frances Deliman, South Canaan; many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Kania.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
