Thomas J. "Pappy" Daley, 80, of Olyphant, died Tuesday evening at the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center after an illness. His wife of 58 years is the former Mildred Kolback.

Born in Archbald, son of the late Leo and Agnes Newcott Daley, he was a graduate of Archbald High School and a member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church in Olyphant. He worked at Capitol Records in Scranton for many years before it closed and later was employed at Cinram Manufacturing in Olyphant before his retirement.
He loved life to the fullest and all kinds of sports, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who enjoyed family gatherings, the holidays and spending time with his grandsons.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Commonwealth Home Health and VNA Hospice for their wonderful care.
Also surviving are a daughter, JoAnn Calvert and husband, Buff, Peckville; two grandsons, Cory and Cody Calvert, both of Peckville; a brother, Gene Daley, Factoryville; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Gerald, Joseph and Leo Daley; and three sisters, Frances Willard, Joanie Jones and Ann Marie Daley.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. from the John J. Turko & Sons Funeral Home, 404 Susquehanna Ave., Olyphant, with Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St. Patrick's Church, Delaware Avenue, Olyphant, to be celebrated by Monsignor Michael J. Delaney, pastor. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Archbald.
