William C. Roman Jr., 61, of South Canaan, died Thursday at home.

Born Aug. 2, 1952, in Carbondale, son of Dolores Turouski Roman of Waymart and the late William Roman, Bill graduated from Waymart High School in 1970. He enjoyed woodworking throughout his life, and worked as a carpenter until 1990. He worked for C&D Builders in Lake Ariel for several years. Bill was a corrections officer at Farview State Hospital, which later became SCI, Waymart, retiring in 2008. He also enjoyed old cars and training his two Airedale dogs. William was a quiet man and a meticulous person who cared for his family and was always willing to help others.
He is also survived by a brother, John A. Roman, South Canaan.
A memorial service will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
