William L. Rowan of Moosic died Monday at home surrounded by his loving family. His wife is the former Judy Seig. They were married for forty-eight years.

Born in Moosic, he was the son of the late Jack W. and Arline E. Lewis Rowan and was a graduate of Moosic High School and East Stroudsburg University. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with a bronze star, National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Prior to his illness, he was employed as a sales representative and account manager in the food service industry.

He was a member of the Moosic Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder, Clerk of Sessions, Choir Director and youth group leader. He enjoyed golfing, volleyball and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Rachel.

Also surviving are a daughter, Roslyn and husband, Bruce Yackobowitz of Moosic; a sister, Jacqueline Rowan Ihlang and husband, Robert of Blaine, Minnesota; a granddaughter, Rachel; a brother-in-law, George and wife, Ann Seig of Moosic; a sister-in-law, Claire Lyckowski of Moosic; an aunt, Norma Verga of Moosic; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Doctor Richard Weinberger, Steve Kravitz, P.A., the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Telespond, caregivers Rich, Bobbie Jo and Carrie, friends and family for their extraordinary care and compassion over the years.

Friends will be received at the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge Street, Dunmore, on Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The funeral will be Friday with services by the Rev. Roger E. Griffith officiating at 11:00 a.m. at Moosic Presbyterian Church, 625 Main Street, Moosic. Interment, Langcliffe Cemetery, Avoca.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Moosic Presbyterian Church, Hospice of the Sacred Heart or Telespond Senior Services.
