Zenovy (George) Izak of Warminster, Pa., passed away Thursday March 20, 2014, at Abington Hospice at Warminster. He was 80 years old. Born in W. Ukraine in 1934, Mr. Izak graduated from the University of Scranton in 1956. He served active duty as a lieutenant in the USN in the Mediterranean.

He graduated with his master's from Temple University. For 44 years, Mr. Izak highly enjoyed being a high school language teacher and later department chairman.

Preceding him in death were his parents, the Very Rev. Bohdan Izak and mother Maria; brother, Andrew; sister, Luba; sister, Irene; son, Michael; and granddaughter, Alexandra. Surviving are his dearest wife, Christine; son, John (his wife, Linda); daughter, Kristine; grandchildren, Meghan, Michael and Melanie.

Relatives and friends will be received Sunday evening, March 23, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Decker Funeral Home, 216 York Road, Warminster.

A Parastas Service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Vladimir Church, Seventh Avenue, Scranton. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Vladimir Church Building and Repair Fund or St. Basil's Academy, Forrest Avenue, Fox Chase, Pa., in Mr. Izak's memory. Arrangements by the Decker Funeral Home, Warminster, www.deckerfuneralhome.com.
