Sally Drazdowski, 80, formerly of Bloom Avenue, North Scranton, died peacefully Saturday at the Neighborhood Hospice of Chester County, West Chester, surrounded by her loving family. She and the love of her life, William Drazdowski Sr., were married July 4, 1949. William died in 2001.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late James and Esther Bennett Kane. She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church and had been a member of the former St. Joseph's Lithuanian Church, both in North Scranton. She was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School and had been employed by Wickam's Potato Chips and the Sutcliff Bridal Salon. However, her favorite job was raising her three children. She enjoyed raising money for the March of Dimes, leading her Girl Scout troop and sewing.
During her many illnesses, she would always keep a smile on her face. When asked how she felt, her response would always be, ""With My Hands.""
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Leadbeater and husband, Kevin, Exton; a son, Dr. Thomas Drazdowski and wife, Rebecca, Mountaintop; a daughter-in-law, Doris Drazdowski, Taylor; eight grandchildren, attorney Rachel and William Drazdowski; Laura West and husband, Shawn; Tess and Elizabeth Drazdowski; and Patrick, Tommy and Jenna Leadbeater; a great-granddaughter, Senah; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, William Drazdowski Jr., in 2010.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 11 a.m., in Mary, Mother of God parish at Holy Rosary Church, William Street, North Scranton. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Neighborhood Hospice of Chester County, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380.
