Dorothy V. Kintzer, 98, Scranton, died Wednesday evening in the Green Ridge Health Care Center. She was the widow of John S. Kintzer, who died in 1991.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Morgan Von Bergen. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She was a 50 year member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Scranton Century Club, the Welsh Women's Society, a former board member of the Scranton Day Nursery, the Rotary Anns and a former long-term treasurer of the Lake Ariel Cottagers Association. She served for many years as a den mother for Cub Scout Pack 101, which met at the Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are three sons, Dr. John S. Kintzer and wife, Antonia, of Bethlehem; Robert W. Kintzer and wife, Kathleen, of Dunmore; and Donald J. Kintzer and wife, Karyn, of Orinda, Calif.; eight grandchildren, John, Megan L., Robert W. Jr., Scott H., Sara E., Bradley T., and Geoffrey M. Kintzer; and Kristen K. Slawson; three great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Von Bergen, Clarks Summit; nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Von Bergen Walsh.

A memorial service will be Saturday, April 28, at 11 a.m., in the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 550 Madison Ave., Scranton. Interment will be private in St. John's Cemetery, Wernersville.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Covenant Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund, 816 Olive St., Scranton, PA 18510.
