Margaret "Margie" Marcinkus entered into eternal peace on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012. Margie was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Sharpenskas. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, St. John's University, Penn State and Marywood. A hard worker from a young age, Margie helped out at her parents' store and Williams Bakery while attending school. She was employed at Clarks Summit State Hospital and Mercy Hospital for nearly 60 years. She was an avid Avon representative for more than 30 years.

Margie loved to travel. Her favorite places included the Bahamas and Hawaii. She cooked and baked a lot, and family gatherings made her heart smile. She was quite patriotic, loved to sing and was well known for making and delivering care packages to loved ones. A devout Catholic and member of St. Joseph's Parish, she was caring, compassionate and truly an inspiration to many.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony F. Archer; her second husband, Joseph P. Marcinkus; daughters, Margaret Giordano and Ann Marie Archer; along with her sisters, Elizabeth and Lillian.

She leaves her loving memories to family and friends, including her daughter and son-in-law, with whom she resided, Marie and Thomas Frable, Archbald, were also her caretakers. Also surviving are her sons, Francis Archer, Blakely; William, Scott Twp.; and Joseph, Moscow; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Margaret's family would like to thank Hospice Community Care of Dunmore and Sacred Heart and Dr. Lee Besen and staff for their support and compassion.

The funeral will be Tuesday with Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
