Dominick DeMatteo, 99, a resident of the Laurels, formerly of Peckville, died Thursday at Laurels at Mid Valley Health and Rehab Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn.

Born in the Avellino Province of Italy, he was the son of the late Peter and Ida Chiero DeMatteo and Mary DeMatteo. He came to this country in 1916 and attended Olyphant schools. He worked and resided in Connecticut, but spent the past 13 years in Peckville. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish, St. Patrick's Church.
He enjoyed bowling, gardening and especially traveling.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Patrick DeMatteo; three stepbrothers, Dan, Frank and Phillip Montemorano; and a sister, Mary Maria DeMatteo Siconolfi.
The funeral will be Monday with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. Arrangements: Margotta Funeral Homes.
