Ruth E. Kostyk, 88, of Moscow, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, in St. Mary's Villa Nursing Home, Elmhurst. Her husband of 67 years is John Kostyk.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence Seamons Beckerle. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, she had been employed as a bookbinder for Haddon Craftsmen, and worked with her husband in the family business, the former Kostyk's Restaurant on Court Street in Scranton. She was a member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
Ruth's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff and nurses of Unit 31 at St. Mary's Villa, for the compassionate care given to Ruth and extended to her husband and children.
She is also survived by one son, John K. Kostyk and wife, Wendy, Elkton, Md.; two daughters, Carol Kuratnick and husband, Jay, Scranton; and Debra McGoff and husband, Joseph, Clarks Summit; seven grandchildren, Christopher Kuratnick and fiancée, Rebecca Barrett; Kimberly Kuratnick, Todd Gray and wife, Marge; Matthew Gray and wife, Tracy; Karen Gray, Daniel and Laura Kostyk; and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for family and friends will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, with services by the Rev. Myron Myronyuk, pastor of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Scranton.
