Wilbert Austin Beers, 76, of White Plains, Md., died Friday at home. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Miller Beers.

He was born April 29, 1936, in Scranton, to the late Austin William Beers and Jessie Walton Beers Hemmler.

Wilbert retired from the FBI as a supervisory fingerprint examiner. He served in the Army National Guard in Washington, D.C., from 1959 to 1966. He enjoyed farming, woodworking and hunting.

Also surviving are a daughter, Linda Ramos, Allens Fresh, Md.; brothers, Norton "Butch" Beers, Easton; and Jack Beers, Moscow; a sister, Amber Stout, Moscow; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Otis Beers; and a sister, Effie Pickrell.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, with the Rev. Pat Lee officiating. Interment to follow.
