Eleanor J. Eli Schank, 83, of Waverly, died Saturday evening in Hospice Community Care, Dunmore, after a battle with cancer. She and her husband, Gerald P. Schank, celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary June 12.

She was born in Allentown, the daughter of the late Calvin Llewellyn and Shirley Grow Eli. She attended Scranton Technical High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Abington. Before retirement, she worked in the cafeteria at Waverly Elementary School.
Also surviving are a son, Gregory P. Schank, Mechanicsburg; a granddaughter, Paige Schank, Mechanicsburg; a sister, Caroline Bott, Allentown; a brother, Calvin Eli Jr., Allentown; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Albert Eli; and an aunt who raised her, Marion Eli Rescorla.
The funeral will be Wednesday at noon in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton, with services by the Rev. Ken Knapp, pastor of First Baptist Church of Abington. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.
Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of services.
