Thomas Morreale, affectionately known as "Papa," 91, died peacefully in his sleep, Dec. 7, 2012, in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Tom was a long time resident of Scranton. He was an avid humanitarian, a past president of UNICO, former UNICO "Man of the Year," and a "Fourth Degree" in the Knights of Columbus. He held various positions in numerous organizations for many years. He retired from the State Department of Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Corrine, were active in many charitable organizations. He was a long time member of St. Anthony's Church and then Holy Rosary Church in Scranton.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years who died in February 2012.
He is survived by his son, Terry, and daughter-in-law, Susan Morreale from New Jersey; and his daughter, Dee Dee, and son-in-law, Rick Lunsford from Tennessee. Tom had four grandchildren, Lee Morreale and Laura Silverstein, both from New Jersey: Rachel Lunsford and Allison Bohannon, both from Tennessee. He was blessed with numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Papa will be held Dec. 12 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Murfreesboro, Tenn. A funeral Mass will follow at 10 with burial at Middle Tennessee State Veterans' Cemetery, Nashville, at 1 p.m.
Woodfin Funeral Chapel of Murfreesboro has charge of the body.
