Jane Hazel Snyder of Carbondale, died Monday at home after an illness. She was the wife of Robert Snyder.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Monroe and Hazel Watts Cox, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale. Before her retirement, she was employed by the Carbondale Nursing Center and previously at the former Griff's Corner Restaurant, both of Carbondale. She was a very active volunteer for the Meals on Wheels Program, having volunteered for more than 20 years. She was also a member of the Coal Cracker Cruisers.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and she loved her family very much.
Also surviving are her seven children, Robert Snyder Jr., Eynon; Linda Piezga and husband, Andy, Carbondale; Charles Snyder and wife, Joyce, Jermyn; Donna Lynady and husband, Walter, Carbondale; Frank Snyder and wife, Cindy, Camp Hill; Shirley Toloso and husband, Art, Cresco; and Susan Snyder Martines, Carbondale; 15 grandchildren, Melody Snyder, Kimberly Snyder, Jennifer Karosus and husband, Joe; Kristina Piezga, Andrew Piezga, Melissa Novak and husband, Joe; Lisa Mancuso, Corinne Trichilo and husband, Jason; Tessa Lynady, Frank Snyder and wife, Mary; Rob Snyder, Lisa Zimmerman and husband, Earl; Kevin Walaski, Nicole Snyder and husband, Chris Dougherty; and Ryan Snyder; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marion Hickey, Carbondale; a brother, Donald Cox, Eynon; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Harry, Ed, Bill, Bob and Charles Cox; and two sisters, Evelyn Schaffer and Mabel Kohan.
The funeral will be Saturday in the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale, with services at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Donald Perry. As per her request, cremation was held.
Friends may call Saturday at the church from 10 to 11.
