Edwina B. Doud, 86, formerly of Scranton area, died Jan. 1 in Danvers, Mass., of Alzheimer's disease. She married Donald H. Doud of Waverly in 1950. He preceded her in death.

Born in 1926 in Bridgeport, Conn., as Edwina Valentina Butler, she was the daughter of the late James and Valentina Finger Butler. She graduated from Russell Sage College, Troy, N.Y., in 1948, with a degree in physical education. She taught and coached at Wyoming Seminary and Keystone Junior College. She resided in Wilmington, Del., for 50 years, before retiring to New England.

She was an avid athlete and civic volunteer and mother of three sons.

Survivors include a brother, Thomas Butler and wife, Patricia, Groton, Conn.; three sons and their wives; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and eight nephews and nieces.

She was also predeceased by a brother, James Butler.

Private burial. She wished those remembering her will participate in a physical sporting activity with loved ones.
