Leona I. Guzior, 65, of Dickson City, died Sunday at Allied Skilled Nursing, surrounded by her loving husband, daughter and best friend, Ann Marie. Her husband of 45 years is Andrew W. Guzior.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Leona Kusy Ocwieja, Taylor, and the late Frank Ocwieja. A 1965 graduate of West Scranton High School, she was a bookkeeper for Convenient Plumbing of Dickson City and was a member of Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Dickson City.
Leona's husband and daughter would like to thank Dr. Paul F. Remick, Dr. Jeremiah W. Eagen, Dr. Roger T. Getts, Davita Dialysis Center, Dunmore, and the nurses, aides and staff of Allied Services Skilled Nursing 3 South, for the combined compassionate and personal care given to Leona over the past many years, extending the quality of life that she had attained.
She is also survived by a daughter, Kathy Micek and husband, Timothy, Archbald; five grandchildren, Meghan McHale, Brittany McHale, Christina McMahon, Mylei and Natalei Micek; a brother, Frank Ocwieja, Scotia, N.Y.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Amy McHale, in 2005; and a brother, Joseph Ocwieja.
Her funeral will be on Friday with services at 10:30 a.m. in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 254-268 Railroad Ave., West Scranton, to be officiated by Monsignor Patrick J. Pratico, J.C.D., pastor of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Leona's name may be made to Dialysis Patient Association, 1212 O'Neil Highway, Dunmore, PA 18512.
