Florence L. Healey, 91, a resident of the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, formerly of the North Pocono area, died Wednesday morning at the center. She was the widow of late Robert J. Healey, who died July 28, 2001.

Born at home in Scranton, daughter of the late Oscar and Hannah Fidiam Ovens, she attended Scranton schools. Florence was a waitress and bartender at Phillips Manor, Cortez, and earlier on worked at the A&P, Globe Store and her son's store.
Surviving are two daughters, Louisa Mateleska and her husband, Michael, Ocean City, Md.; Brenda Hughes and her husband, Tom, Covington Twp.; a son, Robert J. Healey Jr. and his companion, Mary Bailey, Scranton; a sister, Barbara Ricciardi, Aberdeen, Md.; a brother, Ken Ovens and his wife, Joyce, Titusville, Fla.; grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Missy, Maria and Mindy; great-grandchildren, Krystal, Victoria, Alexandra and Nicholas; several nieces and nephews.
Florence's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff and nurses at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center for their care and compassion, especially those on 3 South. They would also like to thank the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the care given to Florence over the last few days.
The funeral will be Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3 First St., Spring Brook Twp., to be officiated by the Rev. Arthur Davis, pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church.
