Virginia M. Fairclough, 69, of Jefferson Twp., died Saturday in Moses Taylor Hospital. She and her husband, William W. Fairclough Sr., celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on Dec. 24.

Born in the Brinktown section of Mill City, she was the daughter of the late Ashbel and Margaret Sossong Ross. She was a graduate of Falls-Overfield High School and was a member of Maplewood Methodist Church. Before retirement, she was employed by Schiff's Foods and Maid- Rite Steak Co.
She enjoyed country music, bird feeding in her yard and walks through the countryside.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Fairclough, Jefferson Twp.; two sons, Thomas and wife, Sharon, Salem Twp.; and William Jr. and wife, Karen, Moscow; two grandchildren, Ian and Lila Fairclough; four sisters, Carol Pierce and husband, Ralph, Philadelphia; Dorothy Ross and husband, Robert, Dalton; Dolores Steinbacher and husband, John, Virginia; and Suzanne Ross, Nicholson; two brothers, Ashbel Ross Jr. and Thomas Ross, both of Susquehanna County; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, by the Rev. John Craig. Interment in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
