Bertha Coccodrilli of Lake Ariel died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Her husband of 71 years is Dante Coccodrilli.

Born March 7, 1921, on a ship coming to America from Gubbio, Italy, she was the oldest daughter of the late Anacleto and Maria Alunni Zebi. She attended school in the Midvalley area. She worked at Katz's Factory, designing and sewing, and for Caesar's Resorts, sewing bedspreads and curtains. She was a member of St. Thomas More/St. Mary's Parish Community, Lake Ariel.
Bertha was an accomplished seamstress and cook. She loved entertaining family and friends and hosted many parties at their home on Mid-Valley Farm Dairy. She truly loved ballroom dancing. She danced every week throughout her married life until recent years. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.

Also surviving are a son, Donald, and his wife, Carol, of Honesdale; a son-in-law, Harry V. McKay of California; a sister, Esther Murphy of New Jersey; cousins, nieces and nephews. She greatly loved her granddaughters, Loren McKay and Nicole Coccodrilli.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Coccodrilli-McKay; a brother, Baldo "Zeb" Zebi; and sisters, Dea Lukeski and Della Vanko.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 105 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup. Anyone attending the Mass is asked to go directly to the church.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
