Barbara Rose Carbone, 71, of Scranton, died Thursday evening at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Thomas Carbone. They had been married for 46 years.

Born in Binghamton, N.Y., daughter of the late Silvester and Pearl Malinowski Dipolito, she graduated from high school in Binghamton and attended Blessed Sacrament Parish at St. Anthony's Church in Throop. She was employed as a beautician for the past 27 years at Ev Jones Hair Salon on Boulevard Avenue in Scranton.

Barbara was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed reading books, taking trips and spending time with her family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Traditional Home Health of Dunmore. They were our "little angels!"

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Gina, of Scranton; a son, Thomas, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the John J. Turko & Sons Funeral Home, 402 Boulevard Ave., Dickson City, with a blessing service at 5:30 by Monsignor Michael J. Delaney.
