Cornelia "Connie" Grasso of Taylor died Sunday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. Her husband of 42 years is Joseph J. Grasso.

Born in Heidelberg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Elfriede Schoenenberger Gergel. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Connie was a kind and generous person who supported many charitable organizations. She was a wonderful mother who loved everyone unconditionally. She was sweet and kind, her laugh would make everyone giggle. She always could be counted on, regardless of the situation. May the good Lord bless and keep her.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jennifer and husband, Eric Stormes, Maryland; and Caroline Merino, Taylor; three sons, Joseph M. Grasso, Scranton; Karl A. Grasso and wife, Mary E., Taylor; and Shawn Grasso and wife, Ellen, Scranton; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Patritia Gillern, Scranton; two brothers, Rudy Gergel and wife, Nicolina, Lake Ariel; and Ronnie Gergel, Scranton; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday with Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton. Everyone attending is asked to go directly to church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
