Edward F. Nebesky, 87, died on March 22 in the VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.

Edward was born in Scranton, a son of the late Oscar and Marie Weller Nebesky. He is survived by his former wife, Agnes Vantaggi Golden. Edward attended St. Mary's elementary and high schools. He served in the armed services as World War II was coming to an end. He owned and operated Nebesky's Dry Cleaning and Scranton One Hour Drive-in Dry Cleaning. Before that, he pumped gas at his aunt Elizabeth Lentes' service station and was a railroad conductor based at the Lackawanna Station in Scranton. He also owned and operated a flower shop on Pittston Avenue for a period of time.

He is also survived by three grandchildren, Rene, Kristen and Jason; two nieces; a nephew; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Nebesky of Scranton; and Carolyn Obaza of Nanticoke; an aunt, Ann Weller of Roaring Brook Twp.; and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Edward, in October 1991; four brothers, Oscar, Paul, Joseph and Robert; and a nephew, Joseph Nebesky.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
