Martha Rose Turano, 72, of Carbondale, died April 1 at Regional Hospice, Scranton. She was the wife of Francis Turano.

Born in Bronx, N.Y., on July 25, 1940, daughter of the late Mae and Herman Kessler, she formerly worked at Ames Department Store in Carbondale, where she was a manager for 20 years until its closing.

She also worked at the Downs in Carbondale.

Also surviving are three sons, Rob Stone, Simpson; John Stone, Carbondale; and Ed Moorehead, Carbondale; a stepdaughter, Michele Pesoli; and a stepson, David Turano, both of Carbondale; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Henrietta; and a brother, Henry.

Services are private at the convenience of family. Arrangements by Ryczak-Harrison Funeral Home Inc., 901 Lackawanna Ave., Mayfield.
