Michael R. Kvetkosky, 83, of Peckville, died Wednesday at Regional Hospital of Scranton after a brief illness.

Born in Eynon, he was the son of the late Matthew and Mary Kvetkosky. He lived for most of his life in Peckville and was a graduate of Blakely High School. He was an Air Force veteran during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. After the war he was employed at AWI Associated Warehouse in Scranton until retirement. He was a booster of the Valley View Cougars sports teams, boys and girls, and was a social member of the American Legion Post 624, Eynon.
His family would like to thank his caregiver, Linda, for her kindness. He was a kind and gentle person who loved his family and his neighbors. He was an avid New York Yankees fan.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews, including his caregivers, Joan Cashuric, Peckville; and Brian and Nicole Dunleavy, Eynon.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers and seven sisters.
The funeral will be Monday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville, with Mass at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Interment, Our Lady of Vilna Cemetery, Eynon.
