Anthony "Punky" Frushon, 45, of Olyphant, died Wednesday at University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, after an illness. His wife is the former Elizabeth Puzak.

He was born in Scranton, son of Anthony F. Frushon and Judy Frushon August. He was a graduate of Olyphant High School and attended Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church. He had served for 25 years as an officer and member of Eureka Hose Company 4 of the Olyphant Fire Department and was also a member of the Kingsbury Masonic Lodge, Olyphant. He was employed as a property operation manager at Mount Airy Casino.
Also surviving are a son, Anthony Joshua "AJ"; a daughter, Amber; and a brother, Jamie, Olyphant; a sister, Becky, Jessup; a godson, Joey Black Jr.; aunts and uncles; and nephews, Kyrin and Jamie Jr. Frushon.
He was preceded in death by a son, Guy Christopher; a brother, Michael; paternal grandparents, Cynthia and Anthony Frushon; and maternal grandparents Gert and James Black.
The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Michael Wargo Jr. Funeral Home, 812 E. Scott St., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 in St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant, to be celebrated by Monsignor Michael Delaney. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Park, Jermyn. Memorial rites will be conducted by members of the Olyphant Fire Department.
Friends and relatives may call Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.
