Robert W. Shepherd of Pelzer, S.C., died Monday in the Wayne Memorial Hospital from complications after being diagnosed with pneumonia. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lucy Shepherd, formerly Lucy House.

Born in Hardyston Twp., N.J., Bob was the son of the late Carlton Jr. and Alta Shepherd, formerly Mulaney. He was of the Methodist faith. Robert worked for Ellcon-National Manufacturing Company for 28 years before retiring as the Manager of the Research and Development department in 2006.
Also surviving Bob is his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Joseph Eisenhauer of Lake Ariel; sister, Arlene Kimble of New Jersey; brother, Don Shepherd of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Charles Crutts IV, Stephanie and Jennifer Eisenhauer; and Kristina Thompson; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter and son in-law, Donna Marie and Charles III Crutts; as well as his younger brother, James Shepherd.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel, officiated by the Rev. William Rushik of the Free Methodist Church of South Canaan. Cremation will take place in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home.
Friends may call Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
