Sally Lippolis Gilson of West Scranton died Thursday in Geisinger Community Medical Center. She and her husband, Randall H. "Randy" Gilson, celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary Nov. 29.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Ruth Reap Lippolis, she was a graduate of St. John the Baptist grade school and St. Patrick's High School. She was formerly employed at the Globe Store and Scranton Dry Goods. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, West Scranton.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Sally possessed a strong faith in God and never missed attending Sunday Mass and the annual Novena to St. Ann. A former long-distance runner, she also loved exercise of all types. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Also surviving are stepmother, Shirley Lippolis, Scranton; a daughter, Michele McDonald and husband, Jeff, Scranton; a son, Ryan and wife, Kim, Drums; three granddaughters, Cali Emma, Laci Anne and Eva Marie; two brothers, William J. Lippolis, Maryland; and Robert Lippolis, Mayfield; two sisters, Nancy Lippolis, Peckville; and Judie Cusimano and husband, Michael, California; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, J. Michael Lippolis.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carl J. Savino Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Jackson Street. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call Sunday, 5 to 8 p.m.
