Eva Jane "Tootsie" Mikloiche, 77, of Vandling, died Friday at home after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born in Dundaff, daughter of the late Steve and Eva Parker Mikloiche, she was a member of the former Forest City Centennial United Methodist Church. A graduate of the Dundaff School, Eva lived most of her life in Dundaff before moving to Vandling. Before her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress in several local dress factories. She served as a judge of elections in Clifford Twp., and was a member of the Clifford Twp. Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was an active member of the New York State Lumberjacks Association and the Pennsylvania Professional Lumberjacks Organization. She was also a member of the Carbondale Senior Citizens' Center.
She loved bingo, playing cards, going camping, feeding hummingbirds and taking care of everyone. She held a special place in her heart for her grandson, Rick.
Surviving are a son, Stephen Mikloiche and wife, Lavonne, and a grandson, Richard "Rick" Mikloiche, all of Vandling; two brothers, Steve Mikloiche, Vandling; and John Mikloiche and wife, Myra, Dundaff; two sisters, Dorlene Pencek and fiancé, Philip Gilbert, Forest City; and Rose Brink, West Clifford; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Pete; and a nephew, Michael.
The funeral will be Tuesday in the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City, with services at 10 a.m. by Pastor John Hardman-Zimmerman. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.
