Dolly Merritt, 84, of Nicholson, died the morning of Nov. 5 at home after a long term of dementia. She was the wife of Wesley Merritt. The couple had been married for 66 years.

Born in Lenox, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy Maas Compton. Before retirement, Dolly was a piano teacher and secretary. She was a member of Parker Hill Community Church.
Also surviving are four sons, Pastor Ray and wife, Ginny, Edmeston, N.Y.; Ronald and wife, Shawnie, Du-luth, Ga.; Jamin and wife, Kathy, Nicholson; and Mark, Port Chester, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Ann Elyse, Hans, Valarie, Jason, Marcello, Nicholas and Gianna; four great-grandchildren, Kodie, Jaron, Odin and Cyrus; and a sister, Joyce Wescott and husband, Wayne, Nicholson.
A graveside service will be Friday at noon in Milwaukee Cemetery and a memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Parker Hill Community Church, 607 N. Abington Road, Clarks Summit.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
