Angela Farber Parise, Carbondale, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center just short of her 91st birthday. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Parise Jr., who died in July 2000. They were married 54 years.

Born Jan. 19, 1923, in Carbondale, Pa., Angela was the daughter of the late Philip and Madeline Cerra Farber. She attended St. Rose Convent School and was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School. She was also a graduate of Hoyt School of Practical Nursing. For many years, she was associated with Farber Restaurants of Northeastern Pa. Mrs. Parise was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. Angie will be missed by all who knew her warm smile or experienced her welcoming hospitality.

The family wishes to thank Neal Davis, M.D., for his outstanding care and the exceptional staff of Forest City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their kindness, compassion and support.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Parise Tomaine and husband, Robert, Madison, Ala., and Crystal Lake, Pa.; a son, Joseph J. Parise III and wife, Eileen McAndrew Parise, Lenoxville, Pa.; three granddaughters, Susan Michele Tomaine, Esq., and husband, Robin Mahood, Esq., Vancouver, B.C., Canada; Nicole Elizabeth and Mary Frances Parise, both of Lenoxville; a brother, William F. Farber Sr., Crystal Lake; a sister, Patricia Farber Smith of Stroudsburg, Pa.; two great-grandchildren, Sam and Isobel Brock-Mahood, Vancouver; several nieces, nephews and a special cousin, Madeline Gentile Nault, Carbondale, Pa.

Angela was also preceded in death by three brothers, Francis, Philip and Joseph Farber; and two sisters, Rosemarie Farber Grippo and Madeline Farber Frailey.

The funeral will be Saturday morning, Dec. 7, 2013, at 9 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Farview and 41st streets, Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook St., Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
