Madeline Shollock Celbusky, 87, of Vandling, died Tuesday at home after an illness. She was the widow of Henry Celbusky, who died June 29, 1988.
The Guest Book is expired.
Born Feb. 18, 1926, in Throop, daughter of the late Alexander and Anne Chervanka Shollock (Chollak), she was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. She was a member of the former St. Michael's Church, Forest City, where she used to decorate the church for holidays and special occasions. She attended a one-room schoolhouse near Cottrell Lake until she was 11 before attending Forest City schools. Before retirement, she was employed in the garment industry, working in several area factories. She was a gifted master seamstress. There was nothing she could not create using her immense talent. She was also blessed with a "green thumb," which was evident when you saw her garden and house plants. She loved to dance, especially the polka, and could be seen "twirling" at many area dances up until a few years ago. She also loved to play her "boomba stick" and played with many local polka bands. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. David Tomazic, Dr. Lisa Thomas and the staff at Northeastern Radiation and Oncology Center for their excellent care, and the compassionate and caring staff of Home Health Professionals.
