Ryan Allen Hartranft, 21, of Monroe, N.C., formerly of Lake Ariel, died on Sunday.

Born Jan. 15, 1992, in Scranton, son of Allen and Lesa Hartranft, Ryan was an umpire for Crystal Carolina Sports and worked as a mechanic for Railside Auto.

He loved cars, baseball, hunting, umpiring and working out at the gym. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Ryan believed, "Family is forever." He also believed you should, "Follow your heart, give it your all and believe in yourself."

He is also survived by a sister, Sarah Hartranft; maternal grandmother, Henrietta Kessler; paternal grandparents, Earl and Glenda Hartranft; godparents, Debbie and Tim Angell; aunts and uncles, Tina Orner (Donnie), Terri Weech (Scott), Sandy Gorba (Charlie), Edward Kessler Jr. (Joanie) and Gary Hartranft (Pat); several cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his papa, Edward Kessler Sr.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel, N.C. Visitation will be an hour before services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bravehearts Oncology Camp for Women in honor of his aunt, Tina.
