Ann Shirley Kanavy Wolfe, 77, a lifelong resident of Scranton, entered eternal life on Saturday, surrounded by her loving family. She and her husband James "Jay" Wolfe celebrated 53 years of marriage July 2, 2013.

She was born and raised in Scranton, daughter of the late Walter and Mae Miskell Kanavy. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Church, now Saint John Neumann Parish. She was an enthusiastic volunteer for many activities in the parish life and was particularly dedicated to her service as an Extraordinary Ministry of the Eucharist. She attended Nativity School, graduated from South Catholic High School and earned an Associate Degree in Business from Lackawanna Business College. Prior to retirement in her professional business career, she held several positions in the accounting field.

Shirley was a woman of courage and faith. She was an inspiration to many.

Also surviving are a daughter, Tricia Totino and her husband, Dan, Kingsley; a son, Tim Wolfe, Scranton; a brother, Walter Kanavy and his wife, Ellen, Scranton; a sister, Kathy Kanavy, Omaha, NE; a granddaughter, Nina Totino; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jackie Kanavy.

The funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard St., Scranton. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

Friends may call Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the church.
