Josephine Biefeldt, 88, of Nicholson, and formerly of Moscow, died Saturday morning at home following an illness. She was the widow of Raymond H. Biefeldt, who died Nov. 15, 1995.

Born in Dunmore on Aug. 30, 1925, daughter of the late John and Margaret Beebe Jackson, she was educated in Dunmore schools. Before retirement, she worked at Rita's Sportswear, Moscow. Josephine was an auxiliary member of American Legion Post 579, Moscow, and was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda S. Ames and companion, Joseph Carnathan, Nicholson; a granddaughter, Christina Rosiak, Davenport, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Lee and Nikki Jean Rosiak; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Dwork and Rhoda Cherinka; and sons-in-law, Buddy D. Manning and Floyd C. Ames.

A memorial service will be at a time to be announced. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Arrangements are by Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home of Moscow.
