Marylou Holman, 79, of Walnutport, passed away peacefully Wednesday after a brief illness. She was the widow of Richard Holman, who died Jan. 23, 2004.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Lettie Wagner Phillips, she was of the Protestant faith, educated in Scranton public schools and attended West Scranton High School. Marylou was employed by several retail stores, including CVS in Stroudsburg. Her hobbies included needlepoint and crocheting, as well as planting and maintaining her flower garden. She also enjoyed collecting Christmas decorations of all kind.
Surviving are a son, Richard Holman Jr., Walnutport; a daughter, Lettie Mary Holman, Silver Spring, Md. and husband, Timothy Warren; two grandsons, Matthew and Nick, whom she adored; a sister, Ruth Bieniecki, Scranton; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Walter, David and Leroy Phillips; and two sisters, Elizabeth Barth and Katherine Barbutti.
Funeral services will be today at 12:30 p.m. in the Davies & Jones Funeral Chapel, 135 S. Main Ave., Scranton, PA 18504. Interment, Washburn St. Cemetery. Friends may call today from 11:30 until service.
