Mary E. Mazza, 77, a lifelong Jessup resident, died Friday night at Regional Hospital of Scranton following a brief illness. Her husband, Nate Mazza, died in August of 1982.

Born in Jessup, daughter of the late Louis and Anna Vispi Massetti, she graduated from Jessup High School. Mary raised her two daughters and later worked at the Lackawanna County Health Care Center for many years before retirement.
Mary was a loving mother, sister and "Noni," who also loved her Valley View Cougars softball and football teams.
Her daughters would like to thank Dr. Tracey Galardi, her special caregivers, Renee, Debbie, Christine, Kerry and Carol, and the entire ICU staff at Regional Hospital of Scranton, for their dedication.
Surviving are two daughters, Noreen and husband, Alan McElroy, Jessup; and Chris Mazza and X.E. McAndrew, Peckvi11e; two granddaughters, Maria and Anna McElroy; two brothers, Arthur Hassetti and wife, Jennie, Jessup; and Robert Massetti and wife, Joyce, Montoursvil1e; nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archba1d. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.
