Geraldine "Buddy" Holleran, 90, a lifelong Scranton resident, died Sunday evening in the VNA Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a brief illness. She and her husband, John F. Holleran, would have celebrated 64 years of marriage Sept. 2.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Robert and Elsie Kiesel Wilcom, she attended Scranton Technical High School.

Geraldine was a stay-at-home mom and a good cook, who enjoyed cooking for her family, always making sure everyone had enough to eat. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A "super" grandmother, she was deeply loved and will be deeply missed. She loved animals, especially her dogs Micky, Mitzie and Buddy. She also enjoyed spending time at the lake, crocheting and doing puzzles.

Also surviving are two sons, John Holleran and wife, Christine, Blooming Grove; and Robert F. Holleran and wife, Louann, Dunmore; three daughters, Karen Holleran, Xenia, Ohio; Sheila Hunsinger and husband, Chris, Scranton; and Lauren Holleran, Scranton; two grandchildren, Kristina and Kimberly Hunsinger, both of Scranton; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Wilcom.

The funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton, by the Rev. Arthur W. Davis, pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
