Elizabeth "Betty" Korona, 76, of Scranton, died Sunday morning at Moses Taylor Hospital.

Born in Dickson City, daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Sova Korona, Betty lived in a group home for most of her life, and her best friends and roommates were Sharon, Dorene and Marlene.

The family sends a special thank you to Karen Himchak for all of the kindness and compassion she extended to Betty.

Surviving are two sisters, Eleanor Lisiak, her caregiver, Scott Twp.; and Margaret Harney, Trenton, N.J.; a brother, Albert, Trenton; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ann, who died Dec. 28, and Mary Wiacek; and a brother, Andy.

The funeral will be Thursday, with a blessing service at 10 a.m. at the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale.
