David Gerard Granville of Scranton died Friday at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a long illness.

Born and raised in Scranton, son of Clare Nemetz Granville of Scranton and the late Clarence Granville Jr., he was a 1972 graduate of Bishop Hannan High School. Most recently, he was a resident at Mountain View Care Center. A trained upholsterer, Steelers fan and free spirit, he will be sadly missed.

Also surviving are his siblings, Michael Granville and wife, Mary Ellen, Jefferson Twp.; Stephen Granville, Scranton; Joseph Granville and wife, Ellen, Scranton; and Julia Granville Miller and husband, Fred, Scranton; a nephew and three nieces; a great-niece and two great-nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, Scranton, for immediate family and friends. In lieu of flowers, make a contribution to St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, Scranton.
