Rose S. Boino, a resident of Dunmore Health Care Center, formerly of the Providence section of Scranton, died Wednesday at the center after an illness. She was the widow of Joseph A. Boino, who died Aug. 10, 2005.

Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Paradise Cognetti, Rose was a devoted and loving wife mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with her entire family especially watching Lawrence Welk with her grandchildren. She especially liked her trips to Cape Cod. Her meatballs were legendary, and she was the best caretaker of all. She was loved and will be missed by everyone.
She was a longtime member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Wood Street, and recently a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish.
Rose's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at the Dunmore Health Care Center, especially to Cierra and Teri for the wonderful care they provided.
Surviving are a son, Louis Boino and wife, Joni, Scranton; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph and Emily; two brothers, John and Victor, both of Scranton; a niece, Fran Dallolio, Old Forge; a nephew, Joseph Boino, California; several other nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Bruno, Frank, Joseph, Russell and Anthony J.; and five sisters, Antoinette Miller, Theresa Ballog, Jane Boino, Frances Cognetti and Mary Cantafio.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton. Entombment in Cathedral Cemetery Mausoleum.
