William T. Padden, a resident of North Scranton, died Monday night at home. His wife, the former Lois Fidiam, died Dec. 26, 1998.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Patrick F. and Mary Dwyer Padden, he was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School and before retirement in 1990, he owned and operated Padden's Plumbing and Heating, Scranton. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church and the Pipefitters Union Local 524.

Surviving are four daughters, Karen Mooney and husband, John, Dunmore; Debbie Gibbons and husband, John, Scranton; Mary Lynn Comes, Scranton; Cindy Padden, Belflower, Calif.; and Susan Arcaro, Dunmore; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Padden, Raleigh, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas, in 2010; three brothers, Frank, John and Eugene; and two sisters, Mae Brandamore and Joan McCormick.

The family would like to thank Commonwealth Caregivers for its compassionate care.

The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Edward Knight O'Donnell Funeral Home, 323 William St., Scranton, with a blessing service by the Rev. Martin Gaiardo. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

Friends may call Friday morning from 9 until service time.
